Where's the Fruit?

Weekly Spiritual Vitamin
"Where's the Fruit?"
Luke 13:6-9  6 He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. 7 Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’ 8 But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize

Hidden Treasures

"Hidden Treasures"
Day Twenty-One: Deuteronomy 33:19 "They shall call the peoples to the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness; for they shall partake of the abundance of the seas and of treasures hidden in the sand." (NKJV)
As we come to the close of this 21-Day Journey, let us pause and thank God for the hidden treasures and golden nuggets of spiritual wisdom that we have received from God along the way.  Some of us may have yielded to temptation or perhaps others may have stood firm and remained faithful.

Get Your Inheritance

"Get Your Inheritance"
Day Twenty: Psalm 37:11 "But the meek shall inherit the earth, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace." (NKJV)
The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines the word meek as "enduring injury with patience and without resentment;deficient in spirit and courage; not violent or strong."  Often when people describe someone as being meek it gives the impression that the person is weak. It is a common assumption that if a person is meek he or she is not able to help themselves.

Increase

Daily Spiritual Vitamin
"Increase!"
Day Nineteen: "Now may He who who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness."
--II Corinthians 9:10 (NKJV)
The word "increase" within this context comes from the New Testament Greek word "auxano" which means to enlarge, to grow, or to cause something to become greater.  The Apostle Paul's prayer for the believers in Corinth was focused upon God our Father and His ability to provide increase.

Lord, Make Me A Blessing

Daily Spiritual Vitamin
"Lord, Make Me a Blessing"
Day Eighteen: "And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."
--II Corinthians 9:8 (NKJV)
In this Year of Abundance, my prayer life is not focused on persuading God to bless me but rather asking the Him to make "me" a blessing. I desire to be a blessing to God and to others in an even greater way in 2018! I'm reminded of God's words to His servant Abraham in Genesis 12:2 when He said, "I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and

Keys to Spiritual Success

"Keys to Spiritual Success"
Day Seventeen:  "And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink." Luke 5: 6-7 (NKJV)
The disciples like many of us had experienced a long night or season of frustration and disappointment. After a difficult night season of fishing with no results whatsoever, we find the disciples calling it quits and washing their nets.

My Father's House

"My Father's House"
Day Sixteen:  Psalm 36:8 "They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house. And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures." (NKJV)
As a child, I remember going to church hearing the saints sing devotional songs such as, "Come and go with me to my Father's House, there is Joy, Joy Joy!" And there's several other verses of that particular song that describe what the believer will experience in the Father's House.

God is Able

"God is Able!"
Day Fifteen:  Ephesians 3:20 "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us." (NKJV)
The story is told of a lady that approached the famous revivalist G. Campbell Morgan after he had finished preaching. The lady asked him, "Do you think that we should pray for even the little things in our lives or just the big things?" He replied, "My sister, can you think of anything in your life that is "big" to God?

Live Long and Prosper!

"Live Long and Prosper!"
Day Fourteen: "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers." (NKJV)
Some of you perhaps may remember the original NBC-TV Series entitled, "Star Trek" which aired in the late 1960s and is still in syndication today. I was always fascinated by the character with the funny ears named, "Mr. Spock." Mr. Spock was the Science Officer on the Starship Enterprise. Mr. Spock would often greet the other characters with an interesting hand sign along with his customary Vulcan greeting, "Live Long and Prosper!

We Know!

"We Know"
Day Thirteen: "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those called according to His purpose." (NKJV)
Do you remember when you first received Christ? Do you remember the date, the time, and the place where you knew you were saved? Can you recall the enthusiasm you had about your walk with God, the excitement about what was yet to come because you were now part of the family of God?
As new believers we see many Christians on fire for the Lord.
