"Loaded with Benefits!"
Day Three: Psalm 68:19 "Blessed the the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits. The God of our salvation." (NKJV)
When we hear that someone is "loaded" we automatically assume that they are "filthy stinking rich" or they have a wealth of money. When most younger people are seeking employment, usually the first question they want answered is "how much money will I make?" However, as we begin to mature through the "seasons of life" our focus begins to shift from bucks to benefits! What are "benefits"? Benefits consist of "that which is advantageous or good; a payment or gift, as one made to help someone or given by an employer, an insurance company, or a public agency." When I was a child growing up in the church, I used to hear the saints say, "It pays to serve the Lord!" So quite naturally, I wanted to know how much does the Lord pay? I later found out that the Lord's payment far exceeds any amount of money that could ever be received. The Psalmist says in this 19th verse that our God "daily loads us with benefits." It is believed that this psalm was written immediately after the Israelites successfully brought the "Ark of the Covenant" back to the Holy City of Jerusalem after a previous attempt had failed. The Psalmist was so excited that he began to worship the Lord God who daily loads us with "benefits." What is the meaning of this and the relevancy for our lives particularly in this new year of abundance?
First, be thankful that God's got you "covered" in 2018! In certain insurance plans, children are covered under their parent's policy until the age of 25 as long as they are in college and still qualify as a "dependent". The best part about being a child of God is that as long as we are "dependent" upon our Heavenly Father, regardless of our age, race, socio-economic, educational status--our Father has us covered. What does this mean? As long as God can still "claim" you, then He can cover you!
Second, be grateful that God has promised to "carry" us on a daily basis throughout eternity! Our Father is the "burden bearer" that will carry you and your load through 2018 and beyond. So when you get a notion later this year to complain about the challenges that you are facing, stop filing complaints and grievances and start to file a "claim" form! Take the next 363 days to open up your Bible, which is "Heaven's Human Resources Manual" and begin to claim the abundant promises of God that have already been spoken over your life! Let Him cover you and carry you this Year of Abundance!
Father, we declare our dependence upon you in all things! We thank You for every provision that You have promised us in Your word! We bless and praise You for being the God who daily loads us with benefits. We refuse to worry and stress about things that are beyond our control. We choose to claim "every spiritual blessing in heavenly places through Christ Jesus our Lord throughout this new year and beyond. In Jesus' name, Amen!
